2015 JOHN HOLT OPEN MATCH PROCEDURES

A. We will enforce a “COLD RANGE” - No magazines may be loaded
   until shooters are on the line and the “LOAD” command is given.
   The RANGE OFFICER will provide an ample time period after the
   “LOAD” command to allow shooters to load magazines, revolver
   cylinders, check sights, stance, etc.

B. Chamber flags will be required in all firearms when they are on
   the line until the “LOAD” command is given. These will be available
   at the registration table.

 TIME ALLOWED
  SLOW FIRE – 5 SHOTS – 2 MINUTES
  TIMED FIRE - 5 SHOTS – 20 SECONDS
  RAPID FIRE – 5 SHOTS – 10 SECONDS


			ALIBIS
1. ALIBIS – An alibi will only be permitted when there is a firearm or
 ammunition malfunction, failure to get all rounds fired in the
 allotted time is NOT a reason for an alibi. One alibi will be
 permitted in the rimfire class and one for the centerfire class per
 shooter. If the RANGE OFFICER feels that the firearm that has
 malfunctioned is not safe or cannot be made operable the
 shooter will be dismissed from the line (AS LONG AS THE
 FIREARM HAS BEEN UNLOADED) and asked to register in another
 relay with the firearm repaired or with another firearm for the
 class – SHOOTING ALL REMAINING STAGES IN FULL. With this
 rule in place a shooter will be permitted to clear a problem
 during the SLOW FIRE stage.

2. SHOOTER PROCEDURE FOR AN ALIBI
  a. KEEP THE FIREARM POINTED DOWN RANGE AT ALL TIMES
  b. AS SOON AS THE “CEASE FIRE “ COMMAND IS GIVEN
     RAISE YOUR OFF HAND TO SIGNAL A PROBLEM, THE
     RANGE OFFICERS WILL ASK ALL OTHER SHOOTERS TO
     BACK AWAY FROM THEIR PLACE ON THE FIRING LINE
  c. STAY AT YOUR PLACE ON THE FIRING LINE AND KEEP THE
     FIREARM POINTED DOWNRANGE UNTIL THE RANGE
     OFFICER ARRIVES AND SEES THE PROBLEM, ONCE IT IS
     SEEN YOU MAY SAFELY CLEAR THE PROBLEM. IF YOU
     CLEAR THE PROBLEM BEFORE THE RANGE OFFICER SEES
     IT YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ALIBI!!!
  d. IF YOU NEED HELP CLEARING THE PROBLEM PLEASE ASK
     BUT KEEP THE LOADED FIREARM POINTED DOWNRANGE.
     A RANGE OFFICER WILL NOT HELP UNLESS YOU ASK FOR
IT.

3.
  a. IF THE FIREARMS IS CLEARED AND DEEMED SAFE BY THE
     RANGE OFFICER THE SHOOTER WILL THEN BE ALLOWED
     TO COMPLETE THE STAGE OF FIRE. 4 SECONDS PER SHOT
     WILL BE ALLOWED FOR TIMED FIRE AND 2 SECONDS PER
     SHOT FOR RAPID FIRE.
